The Role
This position calls for a senior manager capable of playing the following roles. Reporting to Head of Government Affairs, Novartis Country Organization, the successful candidate will be responsible for achieving the following objectives:
- Develop and maintain government relationships with key stakeholders at central and local levels, e.g. MOH, SFDA, NDRC, MOHRSS, MOFCOM, MIIT, General Customs, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangdong
- Drive and coordinate collaboration across Divisions/BUs on government affairs programs to create a favorable environment for Novartis business
- Develop in-depth knowledge of China healthcare system and healthcare policies, and keep internal stakeholders timely and well informed. Drive policy advocacy in favor of MNCs and Novartis positioning through direct engagement and industry associations
- Support HQs utives visits to China, particularly their engagement with senior government officials, and government officials visits to HQ
- Support BUs on strategic public affairs issues

The Candidate
The successful candidate should have a solid track record of successful government affairs roles with 7+ years experiences in an international company, agency or organization. She/he should have good knowledge of Chinese government/political system and profound understanding of Chinas healthcare industry, and be experienced in large complex international organizations. Able to speak fluent English and Chinese, both written and spoken.
